On her 1936 death certificate, the Edelstein family lists "Ruth Baleston" as Anna Edelstein's mother. While we are still researching, Ruth seems to be the first wife of Joseph (Bialystok) Baleston, and gave birth to Anna c. 1889. By 1894 Ruth may have died, unknown, Joseph marries Anna Lask, born c. 1873. Family lore says they were close, perhaps as evidenced by their two memorial stones together.

Entrance to the burial grounds of Chevra Sheveth Achim Anshei Ratchonz at Mount Judah Cemetery, Queens, NY. Section 2- Block 5 - Gate 24.  Family and couples plots are in front, on both sides, then Men's section at left, Women's at right.

Note that a third person named Anna Baleston (1883-1973) is also interred here,
she is the wife of Jacob Baleston.
